Registration begins Thursday morning February 14th at
8:15 a.m. Workshop sessions are scheduled to start each morning at 8:30 a.m.
The bus will be leaving the hotel at 8:00 a.m. each morning to go to the
college. Evening workshop sessions on Thursday and Friday are scheduled until
9:30 p.m. The workshop ends on Saturday afternoon at around 4:00 p.m. You are
expected to be able to attend all of the sessions.
NON-LOCAL ACCOMMODATIONS
Non-local participants will be provided a room
(shared with another participant) for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
(if staying over) nights at the Hampton Inn in Baytown, TX. The grant covers
only the cost of the room for these nights and meals for Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday (including supper). It does not cover the costs of room service or
telephone charges that you will be responsible for upon check-out.
Meals on Thursday
(breakfast, lunch and supper), Friday (breakfast, lunch, and supper), and
Saturday (breakfast, lunch and supper if you stay over) will be provided by the
grant.
You or your college are responsible for your travel arrangements and expenses to and from the Baytown, Texas
area. However, ground arrangements will be made to bring you to the Baytown
area if you fly into Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental airport
during certain time slots.
If you are flying into Houston’s George Bush
Intercontinental airport on Wednesday evening between 5:00 and 9:30 p.m. we
will make arrangements to have you picked up. After picking up your luggage on
the ground floor, exit the door “Passenger Pickup” on this level
and wait by the curb.
Upon arrival at the curb, please wear the enclosed
nametag for this will help to identify you to those who will be picking you up.
Look for a white Lee College vehicle (probably a van).
Throughout the workshop, Lee College will provide
transportation between the hotel and the college.
Departures on Saturday evening should NOT be scheduled before 7:00 p.m. in order to provide
enough time to get to the airport after the workshop ends. Sunday morning
departures should be scheduled between 9:00 and 11:30 a.m. We need to leave the
hotel 2 1/2 hours prior to departure, so please make your arrangements and plan
accordingly. If you are departing during these times, arrangements will be made
to take you to the airport.
Note: Please call (281-425-6522) if your
flight is delayed.
Transportation to and from
the Hampton Inn to Lee College will be provided by Lee College. The bus will
leave at 8 a.m. and arrive back in the evening by 10 p.m. If participants wish
to make their own travel arrangements between the hotel and college, maps and
parking decals will be provided. The workshop will be held in the Barney Gray
Science Building on campus.
